Willard upsets Norwalk in NOL play

For Coach Mark Matula, his first Nothern Ohio League win as head coach at Willard will be one he will never forget.

The Flashes upset Norwalk 24-0 in league play on a rainy Friday night at Flashes field.

Willard used a ball control offense and a strong defensive effort to near perfection, keeping Norwalk’s high powered offense either at bay or on the bench for large parts of the contest.

The Truckers rushed for 160 yards. Breck Turner picked up 132 net yards on 20 carries.

Jake Fetherolf completed 15-of-33 passes for 143 yards.

Wes Potts ran for 109 yards on 19 tries and one touchdown.

Lukas Moore added 53 on 12 attempts and Bronson Owens had 45 yards on 11 carries. Owens and Logan Blanchard also scored Willard TDs.

Columbian 40, Sandusky 14
Columbian beat Sandusky in NOL action Friday.

Sandusky's Andrew Barnum ran in a 4-yard run with 3:17 left in the first half to put the Blue Streaks on board after two Columbian scores.

Ja'Vion Moore scored a touchdown on an 89-yard kickoff return in the third quarter for the Blue Streaks final score.

Bellevue 44, Shelby 6
At Bellevue, the Redmen downed Shelby  in NOL play Friday.

Jalen Santoro rushed for 132 yards on 22 caries and three scores for the Redmen.

Alec Haynes rushed for 54 yards on nine carried and touchdown. Santoro was 5 of 10 passing for 147 yards.
