He received 1,013 (62 percent) of the votes.
Newcomer posted 20 points in a 59-57 win over South Central.
She received 736 (43 percent) of the votes.
The other two nominations for boys’ basketball were St. Mary Central Catholic’s Denarius Harris with 401 votes (25 percent) and Perkins’ Nic Williams 213 votes (13).
The other two nominations for girls’ basketball were Port Clinton’s Tiffany Colston with 639 votes (37 percent) and Edison’s Ciara Reed 343 votes (20 percent).
