St. Paul and Western Reserve have a combined total of 16 participants in the Division III district wrestling championships at Bowling Green State University this coming weekend.
The Flyers have nine participants, which was two more than Western.
New London had five district qualifiers.
Four area schools — St. Paul, SMCC, Margaretta and Western Reserve — had two champions in the balanced field in which nine of the 14 teams had at least one winner.
St. Paul rolled up 205.5 points compared to 160 for Margaretta, and 150 for Western Reserve. Huron finished fourth with 143.
Flyers champions were Grant Dilger at 120 pounds and Jesse Gross (138).
Western Reserve had Chase Griffith (126) and Mason Robson (132) in the winners’ circle.
Margaretta’s champions were Tyler Rogers (113) and Ryan Green (170). SMCC champions were Alex Smith (106) and Adam Guerra (145).
South Central's Caleb Barnett was the champion at 152.
