I agree with Aeversole! Jay did tremendous and I cannot believe that the Sandusky Register does not recognize his accomplishments. Maybe the register should take a better look at the nominees! I do not believe that it is racial as dale is also African American. BUT, I do think that this city and paper will do whatever they can to put Sandusky down instead of building these children up! Now, I will take nothing away from Dale, but why could they not both be nominated? Maybe because your paper knows that jay would win hands down? There is not one representation from Sandusky in this and I think this is deplorable! Sandusky girls soccer tied with Perkins and Diamond Sharp was left out. Sandusky boys soccer has not defeated Perkins in nine years, so I was told, and NOTHING! I am not trying to take away from the other athletes, but give Sandusky their due! All children should be recognized for their accomplishments! Sandusky had a rough time Friday night and I was told horrifying stories about what actually went down while on the field and in pile ups! I commend those who held their morals and showed good sportsmanship to an otherwise unsportsmanlike team! Way to go jay and all the other athletes who had good games this week!
