The Lady Trojans swept St. Mary Central Catholic 25-11, 25-12, 25-18 in the second Division IV sectional tournament match Thursday at Norwalk High School.
South Central (18-4) and Monroeville play in the second match Saturday, also at NHS.
St. Paul takes on Seneca East in the 6:15 p.m. match.
Monroeville won both regular-season meetings over South Central.
The Lady Eagles won 25-17, 27-25, 25-11 on Sept. 3 and 25-14, 25-22, 25-9 on Sept. 26.
“We’re excited about seeing them for a third time,’’ South Central coach Sara Hohler said. “The girls have that desire and we’re looking forward to a good match.’’
The winner advances to the Willard district.
In Thursday’s action, Anna Hintz had 19 kills and Alli Hintz added three.
Madison Chandler set 41-of-41 with 13 assists and Summer Sweeting added 51-of-53 and 12 assists.
In serving, Alli Hintz went 20-of-21 with two aces and Sweeting contributed 13-of-13 with an ace.
Anna Hintz and Erika Wallace led the defense with nine digs each.
“It was a good team win,’’ Hohler said. “We served aggressively and that was a big part of the match.’’
For St. Mary CC, Brooke Durnwald and Julia Edinger each finished with four kills, while Edinger was also 14-of-14 serving.
Hailey Green had 20 digs, while Kennedy Gennari had 12 and Lilly Engeler contributed two kills.
Maggie Murphy added five assists, while Kaitlyn Near had three assists and was 8-of-8 serving.
The Panthers end the season with a record of 6-17.
“South Central did a really good job of keeping us on the defensive all night,” SMCC coach Julie Simon said. “We just couldn’t find our rythem. We didn’t play our best, but still proud of the group.”
