The Western Reserve Lady Roughriders opened up a big first-quarter lead and cruised to a 56-36 win over the St. Paul Lady Flyers on Thursday night in Firelands Conference action at the convocation center.
Western upped its season mark to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the FC with three straight wins.
St. Paul dropped to 3-2 and 0-1.
The Lady ’Riders led 18-2 after one quarter and never looked back.
Western led 31-13 at the half and held the Lady Flyers to 1-of-32 shooting during the opening two periods.
The Lady ’Riders were paced by senior Theresa Jackson, who netted 26 points.
Natalie Robson added eight points.
Western was 23-of-55 from the field.
St. Paul was led by Allie Fitzgerald, who scored 12 points.
The Lady Flyers hit 11-of-16 free throws — all in the first half — and had 41 rebounds.
Western won the junior varsity game, 34-22.
