For the first four minutes of Friday night’s Northern Ohio League boys’ basketball clash between Norwalk and Shelby, the hosts looked to be in position to give the Truckers all they could handle.
The Whippets started quickly, taking an early 6-2 lead and holding an 8-4 advantage midway through the period.
But from that point on, Norwalk kicked it into overdrive, as the locals closed out the opening quarter with a 13-0 run including nine points from junior standout Jeff Thomas and the Truckers raced to a 75-47 league win.
Grant Hull led the way with 17 points, followed by Thomas at 15.
Norwalk hosts Ashland tonight in non-league action.
