New London remained unbeaten on the young season, as the Wildcats posted a 42-31 win over Mapleton in Firelands Conference boys’ basketball play Friday night.
The Mounties held a slim 11-10 lead after the opening period of play, but New London outscored Mapleton 13-4 in the second quarter to build a 23-15 edge at the intermission.
Dane Held took game honors and led New London with 18 points. Ben Young added 10 points.
