The Wildcats exploded to a 16-1 first quarter advantage and never looked back in Friday’s 49-31 Firelands Conference boys’ basketball win over South Central.
New London’s defense forced 10 first quarter turnovers and used six points from Dane Held and five from Josh Hamilton to fashion its 15-point lead.
The Wildcats shot 17-of- 43 from the floor and 8-of-14 from the stripe and 6-of-15 from the three-point line.
Cory Smith tallied 18 points and Dane Held added 16 to lead the Wildcats.
Dallas Yost scored nine points and David Seidel added eight.
