Pressure defense lifts Flyers past Eagles

Balanced scoring and pressure defense helped St. Paul over Monroeville Friday in Firelands Conference boys' basketball action.

Senior Michael Griffin and junior Bob Harwood each scored 15 points to pace the Flyer attack.

The Flyer full-court press caused 25 Eagle turnovers.

The Flyers led 17-16 after one quarter and upped that advantage to 38-27 at the half.

The Eagles were paced by junior Rick Heck, who scored 12 points.

Monroeville converted 3-of-12 at the free-throw line.
