The Norwalk boys basketball team remained No. 3 for a second straight week in the Division I Associated Press state poll it was announced Monday.
The Truckers (17-0) had just one game last week, a 92-33 thumping on the road at Port Clinton Saturday minus starter Jeff Thomas. It was the 38th consecutive regular season win for Norwalk, which hosts Bellevue Friday and Perkins Saturday this week.
Columbus Northland (19-0) remained No. 1 in Div. I with 22 first place votes and 220 points. Cincinnati Walnut Hills (17-1) maintained the No. 2 spot with 179 points, but the Truckers are just two points behind at No. 3 with 177 points.
Norwalk can clinch the Northern Ohio League title outright Friday, which would mark a third straight league title for the first time in program history. It would be just the eighth team in the 68-year history of the NOL to win three or more straight titles.
