Truckers remain third in state poll

The Norwalk Truckers remained in the same spot in the latest state boys' basketball poll, which was released Monday.

The Truckers 19-0 overall, 8-0 in the Northern Ohio League, are still ranked third in Division I.

Norwalk has 185 points.

Columbus Northland is ranked first at 246 points and Cincinnati Walnut Hills second at 193.

Northland, which survived a 59-57 win over Columbus Brookhaven (No. 3, Div. II) last week, still plays Columbus Africentric (No. 4, Div. IV) yet this season. No. 2 Walnut Hills faces perennial power Cincinnati St. Xavier (14-4) tonight and concludes its regular season Friday vs. Milford (15-6).

Also in the Division I state poll are Toledo St. John's at fifth, Toledo Central Catholic ninth Toledo Whitmer 11th and Anthony Wayne 13th.

These are all teams Norwalk may see down-the-road in tournament action.

The Truckers can wrap up a second straight NOL crown outright Friday against Willard at NHS.

The other division leaders are Dayton Thurgood Marshall in II, Cincinnati Summit Country Day III and Cleveland VSAJ IV.
