The Plymouth Big Red spoiled seniors’ night for the Western Reserve Roughriders with a come-from-behind win in a scrappy Firelands Conference (FC) win, 54-44.
The victory puts Plymouth 10-11 and 7-6 in the FC.
“I couldn’t be any prouder of them,” Plymouth coach Troy Keene said.
Western falls to 15-5 overall and 11-2 in league play.
Sophomore Tyson Beebe led the Big Red with 25 points. He was 10-of-13 from the field and 3-of-3 at the free-throw line.
The ‘Riders led 40-37 at the end of the third quarter. But the Big Red went on an 11-0 run starting late in the period to take a 48-40 lead with 2:40 left in the game.
Western junior Nate Good led the attack for the ‘Riders with 17 points in the first half.
Good hit five-three pointers before intermission, including two back-to-back shots within 20 seconds in the first quarter and a buzzer beater to end the half. He finished the night with 21 points.
The ’Riders played without starting seniors Kevin Boose and Craig Meyer.
