In the end, Norwalk moved up one spot.

The Truckers (21-0) finished No. 2 in Division I, earning two first place votes to finish a single point ahead of Cincinnati Walnut Hills (20-1). Norwalk earned 139 points to Walnut Hills' 138.

Norwalk was nearly in position to finish as poll champions, but No. 1 Columbus Northland (22-0) scored a putback basket in overtime to beat Columbus Africentric (No. 5, Div. IV) at the buzzer, 55-53.

Norwalk extended its regular season winning streak to 42 games with a pair of wins over the weekend. The Truckers beat Willard on Friday, 78-43, and Huron on the road Saturday, 76-54.

Norwalk finished No. 11 in last season's final Division I poll.

It is the highest area boys basketball ranking since Willard also finished No. 2 in the final 2005-06 Div. II poll. The Flashes reached the regional championship that year, falling to Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary by a 65-63 score.

One of the biggest sports stories of the naturally, Joe Centers leads the Reflector with St. Paul wrestling. When Norwalk Volleyball went to the State championship a few months ago, Joe Centers headlined the paper with stories of how Norwalk's head coach went to state as a player with St. Paul and the next day headlined how her Dad watched her play at St. Paul 10 years earlier. Joe, I speak on behalf of the entire catholic community, "STOP!!!" You Re making us look pathetic and desperate!
