"Country Mile"
The fan highlight from the Perkins vs. Margaretta game came when it was 2nd down and 26 yards to go for the Pirates on their end of the field in the 3rd qtr. The Margaretta announcer had a little fun and quipped: "It's second down a long country mile."
The Pirates responded with a spectacular play where Dale Irby sprinted downfield and Brandon Smith uncorked a bomb with Irby pulling the ball in and dashing seconds later into the end zone for a 81-yard touchdown.
