Sandusky, which won at Bellevue last year to claim a Northern Ohio League crown in its first year in the league, just wanted to end the season with a win after dropping its first four games of the year.
The Redmen (9-1, 4-1), ranked No. 8 in Division III, got what they wanted, while the Blue Streaks didn’t, thanks to Bellevue’s 52-6 victory in a steady rain for some momentum heading into the post-season. Bellevue ends the regular season with a second place finish in the NOL behind undefeated Tiffin Columbian.
Jalen Santoro, one of the premier area quarterbacks who has both thrown and rushed for over 1,000 yards, hurt his hand early in the second period and didn’t play again. Coach Ed Nasonti said a hit to the funny bone caused some numbness, but he began to regain feeling as the game wore on.
Triston Snezek finished 7-of-12 for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
Alec Haynes had 137 yards on 16 carries with two scores and a touchdown reception.
Drew Yontz rushed 99 yards on seven carries for the Blue Streaks.

Wow. What happened to Sandusky this year?
The Blue Streaks had a lot of talent last year, but they were seniors and the cupboard was pretty bare this year. A few of those guys as I recall are playing college ball now, the QB and a lineman.
