Huron needed a lot of help in its long-shot bid for a Division IV playoff berth, but the first thing that had to happen was a win over Edison in the season finale.
The Chargers apparently didn’t get that memo.
In fact, Edison came up with arguably its best performance of the season, gashing the Tigers for 425 yards on the ground in a 27-13 romp Friday night at Huron Memorial Stadium.
“This is probably the most beat up I’ve ever been, but it feels great. I’ve never felt this good,” said Storm Weimer, who accounted for 161 of those yards and one of the four rushing touchdown for the Chargers. “It was our linemen up front. Those five guys—Gabe Timbs, Mitchell Tomson, Tyler Vitaz, Tyler Fischer and Clay Fox—it’s all on them. That’s why we won tonight.
“And we’ve got heart.”
