Lady Flyers start strong in win

The St. Paul Lady Flyers started strong and held on for a 47-36 win over Crestview Thursday in Firelands Conference action.

The Lady Flyers, who travel to New London starting at 1 p.m. Saturday, improved to 8-3 overall and 5-1 in the FC.

St. Paul led 11-3 after one quarter and 24-5 at the half.

Crestview was able to cut its deficit to 10 points with two minutes to go in the game, but could pull no closer.

Senior Erin Kramer grabbed 14 rebounds for the Lady Flyers and added eight points to help the cause.
 
Senior Arlayna Newcomer scored 13 points and added five rebounds for the Lady Flyers, while junior Bella Stoll netted 13 points and had four rebounds.

The hosts were 18-of-41 from the field and 10-of-24 at the line.
