ONTARIO — Norwalk brought back a 61-33 win over Ontario in Northern Ohio League girls’ basketball action Wednesday night.

The Lady Truckers improved to 11-4 overall, 7-1 in the league and are on an eight-game winning streak.

Norwalk limited Ontario to single-digit scoring in the opening three quarters.

The Lady Truckers led 14-4 after the first quarter and 27-11 by halftime.

Norwalk extended the margin to 41-20 after three quarters and then the final margin.

“I thought we played pretty good defense, especially in the second half we were able to get out in transition,’’ Lady Truckers coach Brock Manlet said. “Defense and rebounding were definite keys to the win.’’

Three players reached double figures, led by Sydnie Fetherolf with 18 points.

Alicia Lortcher had 15 points and Jiselle Thomas added 12.

Lortcher and Morgan Turner pulled down 11 rebounds each.

Thomas had seven and Adrianna Rodriguez contributed six. Lortcher also posted three steals.

“We’ve developed a lot of depth,’’ Manlet said. “We’re a very athletic team.’’

The Lady Truckers are off until Tuesday when they host Edison.

Norwalk is one win away from tying a school record for most wins in a season.

“It’s something the girls are excited about,’’ Manlet said.
