Perkins qualified its team for the district in the Thunderbird Hills South event while Clyde advanced its top two players — senior Garret Rupert and junior Luke Hohenstein — in the Bowling Green sectional, played on the Stone Ridge course.

The district is Oct. 11 at Mohawk Country Club in Tiffin.

The Pirates earned the last qualifying spot (fifth) in the 18-team field with their lowest round of the season at 323.

Nate Foss tied for third with 40-35-80 to lead coach Randy Manuella’s Perkins squad.

Rupert and Hohenstein had identical rounds of 77, three strokes behind medalist Luke Campbell of Toledo St. John who had 74.

However, the Fliers missed the cut as a team with a seventh-place finish at 336.

Sandusky and Norwalk were also in the Thunderbird Hills field.

For the Streaks, Keith Finlay was low with 48-46-94.
