Beier sets school mark in Norwalk win

Goaltender Amy Beier set the Norwalk career girls’ soccer shutout record Monday.

The Lady Truckers beat Margaretta 20-0 at the Norwalk Soccer Complex.

Beier notched her 25th career shutout.

Meagan Wright and Mercedies Moser scored four goals each to lead the Lady Truckers (8-7-0)

Edison 1, Huron 1
A second-half goal from Liz Hill drew the Lady Chargers into a tie Monday during Sandusky Bay Conference action.

Huron took a 1-0 lead in the first half as Amanda Vacca assisted Monika Giardina.

Then, with 12:39 left in the match, Hill scored off a pass in the 18-yard box from Olivia Schmitke.

Brookside 2, Sandusky 0
The Blue Streaks (7-8) hung tough with a quality opponent, falling to Brookside (10-3-1).

Sandusky was outshot 22-4, but coach Mark Fogg said goalkeeper Jena Meggitt (20 saves) and the defense performed admirably.

Perkins 3, Oak Harbor 2
The Perkins Pirates inched closer to another double-digit win season Monday, edging Oak Harbor in a SBC match at Firelands Regional Medical Center Stadium.

With the win, the Pirates improved to 9-5-2 overall and 6-4-2 in the SBC.

Matt Cremean got the Pirates final goal, scoring from 40 yards out on a free kick.
