Norwalk girls advance, face Oak Harbor next

A second-half goal lifted Norwalk past Port Clinton Wednesday in Division II sectional tournament girls' soccer action at Clyde High School.

Port Clinton 2, Perkins 0

The Sandusky Bay Conference champion Redskins came up with a victoryover Perkins in a Division II sectional final game Tuesday at Firelands Regional Medical Center Stadium.

Jon Brown and Nathan Stubblefield scored for Port Clinton (16-1).

The Redskins go on to face Lexington at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the district semifinal at Perkins.

Vermilion 3, Brooklyn 0
The Sailors blanked Brooklyn in a Division II sectional semifinal.

Vermilion (3-12-2) held a 1-0 lead at halftime, and put away a pair of goals in the second to come away with the win.

Justin Delaney scored two goals for the Sailors, while Joey Rini scored one.

The Sailors held an 8-5 advantage in shots on goal.

Vermilion’s Shane Spencer had five saves, while Brooklyn’s (6-9-2) keeper Moody Qasem also had five saves.

The Sailors go on to face the winner of a game between Fairview and Cleveland Max S. Hayes in the sectional final at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Lexington 5, Edison 0
The Chargers ended the season Tuesday in a Division III sectional tournament game.

Edison closed the campaign at 8-8-1.
