Mawhirter, Edison boys' 3200 team place second; Gennari 3rd in long jump

Perkins' Aaron Mawhirter finished second in the boys' shot put at 59-5.25.

Waverly's Dylan Dyke took the top spot at 62-5.

In the boys' 3200 relay, Edison's quartet of Dallas Risner, Lucas Wallace, Clay Goodwin and Stephen Shephard ran a personal record 7:49.98, but lost out to Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy's 7:48.88 for first place.

Port Clinton's Cody Smith notched fourth in the boys' shot put at 55-6.25.

St. Mary Central Catholic's Kennedy Gennari finished third in the Division III girls' long jump at 17-0.50, breaking her own and the school record.

Columbus International's Timia Easley won with an 18-1.

In the girls' high jump, Vermilion's Hannah Bartlome posted third at 5-3.

Celina's Michaela Wenning placed first at 5-4.

The Division II boys' long jump saw a fourth from Clyde's Damien Coborn, who checked in at 21-11.25.

Orange's Will Carter notched first at 23-4.

Margaretta's Austin Moore collected sixth in the Division III high jump at 6-4.

Fairlawn's Trey Everett captured the top spot at 6-6.

And Western Reserve's Kasey Clouse finished seventh in the Division II girls' discus at 119-3.

Liberty-Benton's Alex DeVincentis won with a 134-5.

And St. Paul's Michael Griffin ended up eighth in the Division III long jump at 21-2.75

Lima Central Catholic's Mykale Rogers finished first at 22-6.75.

The state track and field tournament in Columbus continues today and Saturday.
