SBC roundup: Huron leads SBC by two

The Huron volleyball team will take a two-game lead into the second half of the Sandusky Bay Conference volleyball season after a sweep of Edison Tuesday night. The Tigers (8-1, 7-0 SBC) — ranked No. 11 in the Division III state coaches poll — posted scores of 25-15, 25-20, 25-17. Huron leads Margaretta and Clyde by two games in the standings.

For the Tigers, Kat Ferrell was 24 of 25 with 15 kills and Hadley Sterett was 26 of 31 with 10 kills.

For Edison (3-5, 3-4 SBC), Stacey Sinwald had 13 assists, 10 digs and three kills, while Morgan Ott had 10 kills, eight assists and three digs. Margaretta 3, SMCC 0
The Polar Bears swept the host Panthers, 25-18, 25-10, 25-16.   For Margaretta (8-5, 5-2 SBC), Jess Napka had 14 kills and 14 digs, while Makayla Windau added 10 kills and 11 digs.

Natalie Colavincenzo was 21 of 26 with 11 kills and Hannah Snow added six kills and 15 digs for SMCC.

Perkins 3, Oak Harbor 0
The Pirates swept by the visiting Rockets, 25-20, 25-11, 25-19. For Perkins, Shannon Ebert had nine kills, while Bri Whitcomb was 89 of 89 setting with 23 assists.

For Oak Harbor (6-6), Abbie Gezo had 18 assists, while Lindsey Reau and Maggie Zurvalec each had 10 digs. Clyde 3, Port Clinton 0
The Fliers cruised to a sweep over the Redskins, 25-9, 25-18, 25-8.

For Clyde (7-5, 5-2 SBC), Hannah Wadsworth had six kills, while Bre Michaels had 11 assists and six digs.

For Port Clinton, Katie Wakters and Hannah Sarty each had four kills.
