SBC volleyball: Huron retains league lead

A brief recap of Thursday's Sandusky Bay Conference volleyball games:

Huron 3, Clyde 0
Huron defeated Clyde 25-19, 25-23, 25-17 to maintain its lead in the Sandusky Bay Conference title chase Thursday night.

The Tigers are undefeated at 8-0 in the SBC and 9-1 overall.

Kat Ferrell led Huron with 20 of 24 hitting with 11 kills, four blocks and 10 digs.

Sydney Grendow was 48 of 48 setting with 15 assists and Kellyn Litten was 39 of 42 setting with 12 assists for the Tigers.

Sydney Bragg had 20 digs, and Hadley Sterett had 10 kills.

Margaretta 3, Oak Harbor 0
At Oak Harbor, Makayla Windau had 11 kills and 10 digs and was perfect from the service line for the Polar Bears as they rolled to a 25-19, 25-17, 25-17 SBC victory over Oak Habor.

Jess Napka had a solid performance with six kills, 10 digs, and four aces. 

Edison 3, Port Clinton 0
At Milan, Edison beat Port Clinton 25-10, 25-8, 25-7 Thursday in SBC play.

Junior Hannah Sarty was 13 of 13 on serve receptions while chipping in eight digs for Port Clinton. Senior Jess Lorensen had nine digs for the Redskins while senior Sydney Adkins and junior Ericka Castillo had six digs. The Redskins host Woodmore and Danbury this Saturday in a tri-match beginning at 9 a.m.

Stacey Sinwald was 39 of 39 setting with 12 assists, 13 points, two aces, three kills and six digs for Edison. Morgan Ott had 11 assists, was 24 of 24 setting with nine kills and four digs. Natalie Anderson tallied 12 digs, six kills, 10 points and four aces. Shannon Ott had six kills five assists. Katie Ortman had 14 digs and Jordan VanDootingh had 10 digs and 14 points. 

Perkins 3, SMCC 0
At Sandusky, St. Mary Central Catholic fell to Perkins for the second time this season.

The Pirates walked away after three games, 25-15, 25-14, 25-21.

Natalie Colavincenzo was 21 of 23 hitting for the Panthers with eight kills and two blocks. Kennedy Gennari had six kills, three aces and 12 digs. Hannah Snow had five kills and 13 digs. Hayley Green had 16 digs. Maggie Murphy was 76 of 78 setting with 22 assists and 12 digs.
