St. Paul starts well in big week

St. Paul prepped up for a big week of volleyball action Tuesday with a 25-3, 25-8, 25-4 win over Plymouth in Firelands Conference action.

The Lady Flyers (16-1, 11-0), who are No. 1 in the state in Division IV, go to Findlay tonight and play at Monroeville Thursday in FC action. Findlay is ranked fifth in Division I.

In Tuesday’s action, Olivia Livengood went 22-of-25 with 15 kills at the net.

In serving, Elise Nickoli posted 16-of-16 with 13 points and three aces.

The Lady Eagles improved to 13-5, 10-1 in the FC after Tuesday’s 25-18, 25-22, 25-20 FC win.

Quinn Schafer set 85-of-85 with 40 assists.

She added 13-of-14 in serving with four aces and 11 digs.

Brylie Schaffer led the way at the net with 19 kills.

Madison Chandler set 81-of-81 with 29 assists for the Lady Trojans (8-8, 4-7).

Erika Wallace led the way in digs at 19.

The Lady ’Riders closed out their home portion of the schedule with a 25-23, 25-21, 25-22 win over New London Tuesday in FC action.

Western Reserve improved to 13-6 and 7-4. They are at Mapleton Thursday in FC action.

At the net, Theresa Jackson posted 29-of-31 with nine kills.

Mia Ward was 90 percent in serve receive.

For New London, Katie Green notched 28 assists and Marie Gilkeson also chipped in eight digs and 10  points.
