The St. Paul volleyball team swept Monroeville Thursday in three hard-fought games, 26-24, 25-16, 25-23 to clinch at least a share of the Lady Flyers’ 13th consecutive Firelands Conference title.
St. Paul (17-2, 12-0 FC), which entered the week ranked No. 1 in the Div. IV coaches poll, has the longest streak in area volleyball history for consecutive league titles, surpassing Huron’s 12 straight Sandusky Bay Conference titles (1999-2010).
For St. Paul, Olivia Livengood was 15-of-22 hitting with 12 kills and five blocks to pace St. Paul.
Arlayna Newcomer finished 19-of-19 serving with 13 points and four aces.
Western Reserve 3, Mapleton 0
Western Reserve downed Mapleton 25-23, 25-11, 26-24 Thursday in FC action.
In serving for Western, Leah Chafin posted 13-of-15 with 11 points.
Carli Patrick recorded 32-of-33 and 11 kills.
South Central 3, New London 0
South Central captured a 25-23, 25-13, 25-15 win over New London on Thursday.
South Central’s Anna Hintz was 30-of-32 hitting with nine kills, and had 11 digs in the win.
Madison Chandler set 112-of-112with 28 assists.
For New London, Taylor Moody had 10 digs and no serve recieve errors.
Janessa Kipp added eight kills and six blocks.
