Three area teams ranked in state poll

Three area teams are ranked in the fourth Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association state poll, which was released Monday.

St. Paul is second in Division IV, Norwalk fourth II and Huron 11th III.

The Lady Flyers, who are two wins away from winning the Firelands Conference title outright, dropped from second to first.

St. Paul (17-2) scored 264 points with six first-place votes.

They are after Marion Local (16-3) with 20 firsts and 320 points total.

The Lady Flyers fell to Findlay last Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Norwalk remained at fourth for the second straight week in Division II with 249 points and two firsts.

The Lady Truckers (18-2) can clinch a Northern Ohio League crown Tuesday with a home match against Willard.

Padua Franciscan holds the top spot with 384 points, followed by Archbishop McNicholas at 325 and Columbus St. Francis DeSales 270.

The other division leaders are Mt. Notre Dame with 297 points in I and Miami East 434 III.

Huron has 103 points.

The Lady Tigers (15-3) have 103 points. They captured the Sandusky Bay Conference title outright last week.
