Both of the Division II sectional volleyball matches at Huron — Clyde vs. Bellevue and Perkins vs. Willard — went to five games on Wednesday.
The Crimson Flashes (14-8) came up with games of 24-26, 25-21, 25-11, 23-25, 15-12 to defeat Perkins, while the Lady Red defeated Clyde, 20-25, 20-25, 25-19, 25-23, 15-13.
Shannon Ebert led the Pirates (15-8) with 23 kills and 26 digs, while Kendall Harris 11 kills.
In the early match, Tricia Shoen had a 23 of 23 serve performance with two kills for the Lady Red and went 85 of 86 setting with 25 assists.
Laura Doerner went 18 of 18 serving and 60 of 63 setting with 12 assists.
Bre Michaels led the Fliers (11-11) with 34 assists, 20 kills and 16 digs. Cassi Cronin had 22 digs,
Margaretta 3, Western Reserve 1
Margaretta didn’t win the first game in Tuesday’s Division III sectional volleyball tournament against Western Reserve.
But the Polar Bears, who lost 25-22, made enough of an impression to take the next three, 25-14, 25-21, 25-22 and move to a sectional final at 7:15 p.m. Saturday against Sandusky Bay Conference foe Edison at Norwalk High School.
For Margaretta (15-8), Mikayla Windau went 24-of-24 in serving with six aces, to go with 17 kills and 15 aces.
Whitney Strause added 17-of-17 with an ace and 26 digs.
Western Reserve ended the season at 16-8.
In serving, Carli Patrick went 14-of-14 with 11 points.
At the net, Theresa Jackson notched 43-of-46 with eight kills.
Ontario 3, New London 1
Ontario gained a 24-26, 25-22, 25-13, 25-20 win over New London Wednesday in Division III sectional tournament action at Mansfield Senior High School.
Alex Bowers had a season and career-high 37 digs for the Ladycats.
Katie Green posted 14 serving points three aces, 38 assists and 23 digs.
