The state-ranked Tigers survived a five-game district championship in Division III action at Buckeye Central High School Saturday night, holding off Bucyrus Wynford, 23-25, 25-12, 18-25, 25-21, 15-11 to advance to the Liberty-Benton regional.
Huron (22-3) is ranked No. 6 in the state coaches poll, and will face No. 15 Columbus Bishop Ready (17-8) at 6 p.m. Thursday in Findlay.
Sydney Grendow finished with 90 of 94 setting with 37 assists and 26 digs while finishing 22 of 25 serving.
Katt Ferrell finished 35 of 50 hitting with 18 kills and four blocks and she added 19 digs. Sydney Bragg added 17 digs.
