Norwalk wins, to play Beaumont for state title

The Lady Truckers recorded a 25-12, 25-15, 25-18 win over Kettering Alter in the first of two state volleyball semifinals at the Wright State University Ervin J. Nutter Center.

Norwalk (27-2) will be making its first state title appearance, after reaching the state semifinals in 1993 and 2002.

Tickets will be on sale from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Norwalk High School for the state championship match.

For Norwalk, Abby Moffit had 31 assists. Sydney Obringer and Geena Freriks each posted eight kills and Kelli Weininger added five.

Sam Obringer led the defense with 29 digs.

The Lady Truckers will play Cleveland Beaumont (21-7) at 11 a.m. Saturday in the championship match.

Beaumont, which is making its second straight state appearance, topped Columbus DeSales 25-19, 25-14, 17-25, 25-14 in the second semifinal Thursday at Dayton.
