Mild winter for the area?

OK, so the headline is a hair misleading.

But seriously.

As I sit here at 2 a.m. and long for the Saturday forecast of (wait for it...) 47 degrees, I got to thinking...it's actually been a pretty quiet winter for area sports teams.
