Rudolph Memorial scramble June 21 at Woussickett

Plans are in high gear for the second annual Brad Rudolph Memorial Scholarship scramble June 21 at Woussickett. The event supports the scholarship fund in his name and the Margaretta Schools Operation Street Smart and fifth-grade DARE programs.

"We had a great turnout of 25 teams for the first tournament a year ago and look forward to another successful event this year," said a spokesman for the family. The entry fee is $65 per person and includes golf, cart, hot dog at the turn, and a Woussickett burger dinner with all the trimmings. Also, the top three teams will cash with a skin game, 50/50 draw, door prizes and additional raffles rounding out the event.

There are various sponsor levels.

A platinum sponsor pays $500 and is recognized with a sign at the No. 1 and 18 tees and also includes a golf for the foursome ($260).

A gold sponsor's fee is $375 and includes sponsorship of hole prize, recognition at the awards program and golf for one foursome valued at $260.

The silver sponsor fee is $125 and includes sponsorship of designated hole, recognized with sponsorship sign at designated hole and recognition during the awards program.

LEJGA season opens Saturday
The 29th Lake Erie Junior Golf Association season officially opens Saturday.

The first of 18 scheduled events is at the Lincoln Hills course in Upper Sandusky for youngsters ages 10-19.

There are four divisions for the boys (10-11, 12-13, 14-16 and 17-19) and two for the girls (10-14 and 15-19) with Player of the Year honors awarded to the top performer in each following the last event July 28 at Fremont Country Club.

The first tournament in the area is set for June 11 with the Catawba Island Club the host. The field moves over to Norwalk's Eagle Creek Golf Club the following day (June 12).

Huron football scramble
The annual Huron Football scramble is set for June 10 at Sawmill Creek Golf Club and open to Huron football players, coaches, H-Team members and friends of the Huron football program.

The nine-hole event has a 4 p.m. shotgun start with an entry fee of $20 for football players and $30 for the friends of the football program.

Refreshments will be served by the H-Team starting at 6 p.m. and donations for the refreshments will be accepted.

Entry forms are available at Jim's Pizza Box or the Huron Market and should be mailed with the fee to Coach Tony Legando, c/o Huron High School, 710 Cleveland Road W. Huron, Ohio 44839.

The deadline is June 3.

Tournament of Champions
The Bishop Robert Donnelly Tournament of Champions scramble is June 14 at Woussickett with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.

Entry fee is $75 per person and includes green fees, cart, hot dogs/ burgers, desserts, beverages and chances to win hole and team prizes.

Proceeds benefit the Sandusky Central Catholic School athletic programs.
