The first night of the regional track and field competition saw state qualifiers from Sandusky, Margaretta and St. Paul.
In Division I action at Amherst, Sandusky’s Heather Gruhlke finished fourth in the hight jump at 5-3.
Margaretta’s Mike Ranklin competed in the Division III tournament at Tiffin and posted fourth inthe discus at 152-5.
And the St. Paul boys’ relay team of Tim Thomas, Mike Dankelson, Gabe Dauch and Jack Fisher notched third in 8:17.42 in Division III action at Lancaster.
The Divisions I and III regional concludes Friday with running and the remaining field events finals.
Division II regional action kicks off Thursday and ends Saturday.
