Mollohan, Edison win in SBC

Stephanie Mollohan had a career-best 36 for even par for Edison, which was a 162-190 winner against Margaretta Monday at Thunderbird South.
Mollohan started with a birdie on the first hole, bogeyed No. 2 and double-bogeyed the third before an eagle on No. 4 when she drove the green.
She closed out with consecutive birdies, consecutive bogeys, and par to finish one stroke off the school record. Bailey Bixler holds Edison's school record with a 35 set in 2009.
Ana Fischer, Rachel Huntley and Tori Riddle all had 42 for the Chargers (7-0, 5-0 SBC).
Katie Muratore had a 43 for the Polar Bears (5-3, 3-3 SBC), Tatum Tucker added a 48, Grace Sessler carded a 49 and Rian Spicer shot a 50.
The 190 is a new school record for the Bears, who eclipsed a the previous record of 193. Margaretta has twice scored 195 this year.
"I'm proud of not only the Edison girls, but Margaretta as well," Edison said. "They showed a lot of improvement. They're a well-coached, young team."
Edison was two strokes off its school record of 160 set this season.
Edison's Kaitlyn Hamlin had a personal-best 44 in the JV match.
Norwalk 187, St. Paul 190, Ashland 194
At Norwalk, Celai Fitzgerald turned in the lowest round with a season-best 41 for the Flyers, but the Truckers got a 42 from Hannah Schneider, who was sick during the weekend but rebounded to birdie the first two holes at Eagle Creek as Norwalk won a tri-meet.
Katie Gross and Emily McKillips both had 49s for the Truckers, who cut five strokes off their previous school record of 192. K.C. Strimpfel had a personal-best 47.
Freshman Megan Surovjak carded 48 for St. Paul, Katie Farmer shot a 49 and Hannah Arnold added a 52.
BOYS GOLF
Fostoria 164, Galion 167, Bellevue 173
At Galion, Fostoria's Anthony Miller had the lowest round with his 38 in a Northern Ohio League tri-meet.
Bellevue's Ryan Cook carded a 41, while Taylor Radloff and Sam Strayer added 43s. Ian Carr shot a 46.
Lake Ridge 160, Wellington 180
At Elyria, Mitchell Rice was medalist for Lake Ridge with a 35 in a win at Cherry Ridge Golf Club.
Rice and Spencer Scheeler, who had a 43, reside in the area.
