Kids are one week into summer break, but the familiar sound of basketballs bouncing in the gym could be heard throughout Norwalk Saturday at the 26-team boys basketball Norwalk Shootout.
At one point during the single-elimination tournament, games between Northern Ohio League rivals Willard and Norwalk, and Firelands Conference rivals St. Paul and Monroeville, were played at the same time.
While looking to keep a competitive edge, the end result was about one thing.
Host Norwalk steamrolled the competition in the tournament, winning by double-digits in all four games, including a 34-10 win over Keystone in the championship.
