A good road trip to the Keystone State has set up a two-week window to get ready for the tournament for the Sandusky American Legion Post 83 baseball team.
After sweeping a pair of games Friday in Pennsylvania, Sandusky fell Saturday to Saegertown, Pa., in the first game of the Allegheny Summer Tournament before ending the trip with a 4-3 victory against Franklin, Pa.
In the loss to Saegertown, Post 83 was limited to one run on five hits.
Mike Drake (Sandusky 2011) singled and scored on an RBI triple by Logan Shullick (Norwalk 2011) for the lone run.
Shullick added a single for two hits in the game, and Seth Bryant (Perkins) and Alex Manner (Bellevue) added singles.
In the win against Franklin, Post 83 trailed 3-2 entering the fifth inning. Shullick added an RBI single, and pitched the final two innings to pick up the save.
Trey Keegan (Sandusky 2011) hit a double and a home run
Trey Gluth (Port Clinton) picked up the win, pitching the fourth and fifth innings.
