After getting handled early in the morning, the Sandusky American Legion Post 83 baseball team rebounded with a win Friday at the Adrian Classic to advance to Sunday’s semifinals of the tournament.
Sandusky (29-11) fell to Brooklyn, Mich. in the opener, 7-1.
Post 83 responded with an 8-4 win over Licking Valley (Ohio) to improve to 3-1 at the tournament.
In the first game, Mike Drake (Sandusky 2011) singled and scored on a passed ball in the first inning for Post 83's only run.
In Game 2, Post 83 got a two-run home run from Trey Keegan (Sandusky 2011) in the third inning for a 2-1 lead.
Keegan finished with four hits, including the double and home run, and three RBIs.
Sandusky’s time and opponent for Sunday will not be determined until today's games are completed. It will either be at10 a.m. or 12:45 p.m., and a win in that game puts them in the 3 p.m. championship game.
