There was a tightly contested vote between three Firelands Conference teams as the area media made their projections about the 2012 football season.
Western Reserve gained the nod in the Firelands Conference in a close vote over St. Paul.
Crestview, the defending champion, was also projected to be in the mix.
In the Northern Ohio League, Tiffin Columbian snagged the top spot, followed by Bellevue, Sandusky and Norwalk.
Voting was also conducted in two other divisions — the North Central Conference and Midland Athletic Conference.
The NCC is split in two divisions with the projected winners Bucyrus Wynford in the Black and Buckeye Central Silver. Carey was tabbed to win the MAL.
