Swim Roundup: Oak Harbor sweeps tri-meet, Huron falls to Lexington

In a tri-meet on Thursday, Oak Harbor's boys and girls swimming and diving teams bested both Springfield and Bowling Green, while Bowling Green finished ahead of Springfield.

In a tri-meet on Thursday, Oak Harbor's boys and girls swimming and diving teams bested both Springfield and Bowling Green, while Bowling Green finished ahead of Springfield. The Rocket boys beat Springfield 83-13 and topped Bowling Green 66-35, while Bowling Green's boys beat Springfield 61-19. On the girls side, Oak Harbor beat Springfield 87-9 and edged by Bowling Green 59-43, while the Bowling Green girls won 84-15 over Springfield.

Boys: Lexington 98, Huron 58

Girls: Lexington 133, Huron 28

 

The Minutemen swept Huron in a dual meet on Thursday, 98-58 on the boys side and 133-28 for the girls.

Jon Turner and Matt Buckingham led the way for the Tiger boys each with a first and second place finish. Turner finished first in the 200 freestyle (2:12.97) and second in the 100 butterfly (1:07.77), while Buckingham took first in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.47) and finished second in the 50 free (26.95). Stephen Tomczyk took second for the Tigers in the 100 freestyle with a time of 58.88.

Allison Slocum led the way for the Tiger girls, with a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:18.14) and 100 butterfly (1:10.49).
