Durnwald second at Run to Fun

Trevor Durnwald finished second overall for St. Mary Central Catholic in the 3200-meter Run to Fun in Divisions II-III at Mills Creek Golf Course in Sandusky.

Durnwald finished in 10:43, and Huron's Kevin Tomczyk was third overall in 10:44 as the Tigers finished fifth in the nine-team field.

The Clyde boys finished seventh with 136 team points on the scoring of Isaac Bouyack (5, 10:54), Zach Sepeda (19, 11:41), Matthew Gerber (25, 12:04), Jesse Gonzalez (53, 13:01) and Skyler Eversole (56, 13:14).

The Huron girls finished second as a team in the Divisions II-III race with 81 points, led by Morgan Mize (8, 13:33) and Kayla Hamilton (9, 13:55).

Lindsay Kaatz led SMCC with a sixth-place finish in 12:51.

Norwalk girls win Dan Olien

Norwalk's Sydnie Fetherolf finished second in the girls' race at the Dan Olien Early Bird Invitational to lead the Truckers to a title in the 18-team field.

Fetherolf (20:11) paced the Truckers (84 team points), while all five scorers finished 32nd or better for 84 team points.

Western Reserve's Amanda Miller finished third overall in 20:17 for the Roughriders, who finished fifth as a team with 178 points.

Also finishing in the top 30 were Monroeville's Adrian Schaffer (28, 23:18), St. Paul's Kirsten Bundschuh (29, 23:23) and New London's Leah Schwinn (30, 23:24).

Norwalk's Spencer Howell and Tyler Sparks both finished in the top 11 of 146 runners in Saturday's Invite to lead the Truckers to a third-place team finish.

New London junior Jonathan Albaugh, a state qualifier a year ago, finished third in the field in 16:51 for New London, which was fifth as a team.

Rocket girls 3rd at Norm Bray

The Oak Harbor girls landed four top-12 finishers in Saturday's Norm Bray Invite in Fremont, leading the Rockets to a third-place finish.

Allie Dresser (9, 21:53), Trinity Gephart (10, 21:59), Allie Dombrowsky (11, 22:20) and Megan Wistinghausen (12, 22:34) finished near the top of the 52-person field for Oak Harbor.

Gina Bing (16, 22:56) led the Pirate girls.

Michael Hasselbach led Oak Harbor to a fourth-place team finish with a mark of 18:13 for 13th overall.

David Ahner led the Perkins "B"-team to seventh place of 10 teams in Saturday's Invite with a 27th-place finish in 19:41.
