Perkins downs Edison to remain unbeaten

Perkins gained a 25-19, 25-17, 25-15 win over Edison in Sandusky Bay Conference play Thursday night at Perkins High School.

Perkins improved to 3-0, 2-0 SBC, while the Lady Chargers dropped to 1-1.
Two separate 6-0 runs in the first game by Perkins put the Charges (1-1, 1-1) in a hole early.
The Pirates excelled all night behind the power of senior Shannon Ebert, who has verbally committed to play for Findlay next year. Ebert had 14 digs and 13 kills.
Much of Ebert’s power hitting was set up by Bri Whitcomb, who went 104 of 104 passing and contributed 33 assists against Edison.

Huron 3, St. Mary CC
Huron cruised past St. Mary Central Catholic Thursday, 25-15, 25-11, 25-12.
For the Tigers, Kat Ferrell was 19-of-22 hitting with 11 kills, while Megan McCarthy added seven kills and Sydney Bragg had five.
For SMCC, Hannah Snow was 15-of-16 hitting with six kills and a block.

Margaretta 3, Clyde 0
The Bears swept visiting Clyde, 25-17, 27-25, 25-21.
For Margaretta, Jess Napka was 26-of-30 hitting with 15 kills and 19-of-19 serving with five blocks. Chey Morris added 73-of-74 setting with 34 assists and six blocks.

Oak Harbor 3, Port Clinton 0
The Rockets earned a straight-set, 25-20, 25-17, 25-18 win.
For Oak Harbor, Abbie Gezo had 23 assists and Katelyn Tice had 12 kills.
Marissa Day finished with six blocks and four kills for Port Clinton.
