Monroeville edges out Western in key FC match

COLLINS — Monroeville and Western Reserve went to the limit of five games in Tuesday’s Firelands Conference volleyball match, before the Lady Eagles finally prevailed 25-23, 21-25, 24-26, 25-16, 15-9.

Monroeville improved to 3-1 overall and 3-0 in the FC. The Lady ’Riders dropped to 6-3, 1-2.

For the Lady Eagles, Samantha Reer went 24-of-28 with two aces in serving.
Quinn Schafer served 18-of-18.

For Western, Carli Patrick served 25-of-26 and went 39-of-41 with seven kills at the net. Heather Haynes notched 14-of-16 in serving and 68-of-74 setting with 18 assists.

St. Paul 3, South Central 0
St. Paul and South Central returned to FC action Tuesday.

The Lady Flyers picked up a 25-18, 25-15, 25-14 win, improving to 6-0 and 3-0. 

Olivia Livengood paced the Lady Flyer win serving 16-of-16 with 10 points and adding 22-of-23 hitting with 13 kills in the match.

Sabrina Schaffer was 15-of-16 from the service line with 10 points.

Crestview 3, NL 2
NEW LONDON — Crestview beat New London 12-25, 26-24, 20-25, 25-21, 15-12 Tuesday for an NOL win.

For the Ladycats (3-2, 2-1) Alex Bowers had 23 serving points with three aces and 23 digs.
