Despite going toe-to-toe with perennial power Huron on Tuesday night, the Perkins volleyball team learned one important lesson to take with it for the next time the two meet.
To be the champ, you have to beat the champ.
The Pirates gained a lot of respect following the hard fought Sandusky Bay Conference showdown, but it was Huron winning in four games, 25-16, 25-22, 20-25, 25-23.
Huron improved to 3-0 in the SBC and 3-1 overall, while Perkins slipped to 2-1 in the SBC and 5-2 on the season.
"Nobody in this gym was surprised by the level of play in this match because Perkins isn't going to fly under the radar anymore. It's no secret what type of team they are. They're good," said Huron coach Don Wood after his squad escaped with the win.
