SBC roundup: Perkins rallies past Margaretta

Another strong start wasn’t enough for Margaretta in a four-game loss to visiting Perkins in a Sandusky Bay Conference match at Margaretta High School.

After dropping Game 1 to the Bears, 26-24, the Pirates roared back for three straight wins, 29-27, 25-22, 25-21.

For Perkins, Cortney Anderson had 17 kills, while Kendall Harris and Shannon Ebert each had 11. Bri Whitcomb was 136 of 137 setting with 41 assists and Chelsea Smith had 30 digs.

For Margaretta (6-3, 4-2 SBC), Makayla Windau had 21 kills and Kasey Parkhurst had 18 kills, four blocks and 20 digs. Whitney Strause had 32 digs.

Huron 3, Port Clinton 0
The Tigers remained alone atop the SBC with a sweep of the Redskins, 25-11, 25-14, 25-11.

For Huron (6-1, 6-0 SBC), Kat Ferrell was 20 of 23 hitting with 13 kills, while Kellyn Litten was 38 of 38 setting with 15 assists.

Clyde 3, Edison 0
The Fliers held off Edison in each set to earn a sweep, 25-20, 25-21, 29-27.

For Clyde (6-5, 4-2), Bre Michaels had seven kills and 14 digs, while Missy Setzler had 30 digs.

For Edison (3-3, 3-3), Stacey Sinwald had 14 assists, 11 digs, five kills and eight points. Shannon Ott had 10 kills, 10 assists and nine digs.

Oak Harbor 3, SMCC 0
The Panthers fell to 2-7 overall and 1-5 in the SBC after a setback to the Rockets, 25-11, 25-18, 25-21.

For the Rockets (6-4, 2-4), Abbie Gezo had 25 assists and six blocks.

For SMCC, Maggie Murphy wet 79 of 83 setting with 17 assists and eight digs, while Natalie Colazincenzo had seven kills and two blocks.
