The Sandusky American Legion Post 83 baseball team slugged its way through seven innings before weather ended its 2011 'Nubbs' Shootout game with Willard Post 514 Friday afternoon at Perkins High School.
A 6-3 win for Post 83 was the only game played of the six games scheduled, as late morning showers made for poor field conditions.
The win improved Post 83 to 7-2 overall entering today's 9 a.m. game against Avon Lake at Perkins High School. Later today at 3 p.m. at Perkins, Post 83 will take on Whitehouse Post 384, who handed the team its lone two losses.
Despite six errors behind him, Post 83's Kendrick Aaron (Sandusky) went the distance on the mound, needing only 70 pitches while allowing just one earned run on two hits. He struck out six with no walks.
