FOOTBALL

Western Reserve 20, St. Paul 12: The Roughriders held off a late Flyers rally for their first win at Warren Whitney Field since 1990. Blake Buckhannon bounded for over 300 yards with a hat trick of touchdowns, while pulling down the game-sealing interception.

Clyde 63, St. Mary CC 0: Brad Smith scored six times for the Fliers in Clyde's dominating victory over the Panthers Saturday. The Fliers took advantage of great field position, scoring touchdowns on five separate one-play drives.

VOLLEYBALL

St. Paul 2nd at Convoy Invite: The Lady Flyers fell to Maria Stein Marion Local 25-21, 23-25, 25-23 in the finals of Saturday's Pepsi Lady Knights Invitational at Convoy Crestview, an annual meeting of many small-school volleyball powerhouses. Along the way to the finals, St. Paul dispatched Edison in two sets, 25-20, 27-25. The Chargers rebounded for third place in the tournament, tallying a win over Crestview in the consolation finals. Edison coach Sean Hoover scored his 100th career win against the team coached by his mother, Fort Recovery.

St. Mary CC 1-2 at NWOCSA: The Panthers took losses to Tiffin Calvert and host Fostoria St. Wendelin, before finishing with a win over Cardinal Stritch, 25-23, 23-25, 25-14.

GIRLS SOCCER

Edison 3, Perkins 0: Olivia Schmitke scored twice for the Chargers (5-4-3) in a win over the Pirates. Michelle Johnston scored the third and final goal for Edison.

BOYS SOCCER

Port Clinton 3, Vermilion 1: The Redskins improved to 12-1 with a win over Vermilion Saturday. Brandon Stubblefield scored twice unassisted in the second half in the 3-1 win.

CROSS COUNTRY

Bellevue girls win John Speer: The Bellevue girls finished first of 13 in Saturday's John Speer Invite hosted by Western Reserve. The Lady Red's top finisher was Ericka Hosang (22:05) in fifth, but their lowest scorer crossed in 17th. The Bellevue boys finished fifth as a team, led by Dylan Farmbrough in ninth (18:24). The complete results were not available.

Perkins boys third at Eagle Invite: The Pirates took third place in the Div. II-III race at Saturday's Eagle Invite hosted by Oregon Clay at Pearson Park in Oregon. Michael Decker was third overall in 17:01.8. The Liberty-Benton boys and girls won the Divs. II-III races.

RACING

ThorSport struggles in Kentucky: ThorSport first-year Dakoda Armstrong scored his first career top-10 finish in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, but his veteran teammates Johnny Sauter had a tougher time -- Sauter battled a loose truck to a 14th place finish, which Crafton landed 23rd.
