BHBRANCH

Whats jeff yosts best jump?

foulfoul60

Jeff jumped 6'2" at one of the indoor meets he went to this year, and that was before he started his workouts, so i think he will be a contender in the high jump this year.
u_gotta_catch_that, Ben is a sophomore this year who threw 48 indoors. He has been pushing the 50' mark all year and i expect him to be around 55' by the end of the year. Steinhauser throws shot, but he is not as good at shot as he is discus. He throws consistently over 40', by the end of the year he probably throw 45ish

u_gotta_catch_that

well what does ben throw in discus??

foulfoul60

He throws 120' consistently with decent form, if he can improve it i could see upper 130s or 140ish

defjamfight4ny

At margaretta we have Andrew Shupp he throw around 115 1-120 consistently also. he's worked w/special trainers and pro's in that field. he has great form.

ftballfinatic

yeah i saw this young man throw a couple of days ago. he's got talent. great form. and he's got good sportsmanship.

Brett The Hitma...

Yost and Bird could go 1, 2 in the hj.

CHSHendro

Yost and bird will not go one and two in high jump. Fliers have justin cook he was jumping 6'2 last year on a regular basis. With 6'6 being his best.

bwhs

he jumped 6'6?
and the exchange student jumped either 6'2 or 6'3

piratedad99

perkins is going to run the SBC

tigerman

im gonna have to predict huron to win the sbc. i hear we have a bunch of kids out, with a couple of kids running in the 10's for the 100m. should win state, maybe. the donation from kalahari really helped us out on getting some stellar athletes. GO TIGERS BABY!

Rocketdad80

pirate dad do you think that you'll all will it. there is no way perkins is as good as oak harbor

Brett The Hitma...

I could definetly see Bird and Yost going 1,2 in the HJ. Cook is good don't get be wrong but you never know. I am not sure on that 6'6 by cook either you will have to let me know where he jumped that i was always under the impression his best was 6'4 at best. If he in deed jumped 6'6 where was he come state last year aspecially if he did it on a regualr basis.......

u_gotta_catch_that

if u look at the post again it says he jumped 6'2 on a regular basis,, just saying and im pretty sure he did get 6'6, ill ask him tomorrow.

Edison 4x1 team looked really good today, not to mention they completely swept the open 100. With gelvin, beres, howard, and freeman they are definitely going to have a good season. Edison Girls also looked extremely good for the first meet.
Gelvin's also gonna put up some major competition in the long jump this year as well

Brett The Hitma...

Thanks you gotta catch that, i am not saying your a liar by any means but as you can see some people on here are anything but serious.

u_gotta_catch_that

I didnt get to talk to him today. And yeah i have noticed about the other people not being serious, pc football and thug nasty, yeah they should just go crawl into a corner and die.

rflattsgirl1

Hey - what about Edison and the SBC??? No one gives them much thought. The girls beat both of them yesterday!!! By one point - but a win is a WIN!!!

foulfoul60

he ran an 11 flat yesterday!!!!!! what an amazing time this early in the season, keep it up Matt!

bwhs

nice job to matt
Im sure we'll get alot of people complaining about wind and hand timing which is understandable but still you know its at least an 11.5 which is pretty good this early

foulfoul60

well i dont know where you get 11.5. the standard for converting handtiming to F.A.T is .24, so it would be 11.24. Secondly, you werent there, you dont know how the wind was during that race, it could have died down just before they ran, or maybe they ran into the wind, you dont know, you cant jsut assusme the wind was present when they ran. i say its an 11.3 at max with F.A.T timing, but who knows, maybe the handtimer was accurate

worndo

Nice job Edison. Nice job putting the team effort together. Nice times for early in the season as well.

Tiger Dad

I was at the Sandusky/Fremont/Huron meet yesterday. The conditions were cold (low to mid 40's) and breezy. The group I was with looked across Hayes Avenue and could see the flag at Sandusky High School. The wind direction was definately out of the east, and definately not a tail wind. It was more of a cross wind due to the fact the track is configured north to south on the home stretch. With the large, concrete walls around Strobel Field, the runners on the track really don't feel the wind like the fans in the stands do. I'd say regardless of the what the actual time was, Lehrer did in fact beat everyone else in the race including Sandusky's Dailyn Moore and Corey Gilbert. I don't get too hyped about times that aren't FAT, but I'd say it was a fast heat and a good outing for everyone this early in the season. Foul Foul is correct on his .24 deviation for hand held to FAT conversions. Hoping for sunny and 60 sometime soon.

foulfoul60

im hoping for the 60 and sunny to be on tuesday at our dual meet!

Tiger Dad

Weather looks like a high of 58 and a low of 50 for next Tuesday. I hope our pit at Huron is big enough to keep you in the yard. You had some nice throws yesterday. Keep up the good work.

bwhs

i didnt beleve the time...i just say i figured people would complain about the hand timeing....and i never said 11.5 was the standard conversion i was just saying for sure it was under an 11.5 which is very good for this early in the track season

Brett The Hitma...

Going on what i have read and how i have seen MAtt run this indoor season i am going to say its pretty legit, i there was a slight breeze it was anything but tail win from what that sounds so wind is not a huge factor. I think the fact that he had two fast boys who are capable of putting down times like that were in his heat and he had the better start and finish. I don't think i saw wither one of those sandusky boys doing any indoor, that is the difference right there. Nice job Matt, i am sure your dad had a big ol smile on his face, i know i woulda!!! This year is already getting out to a nice start!
