GIRLS BASKETBALLNorwalk 45, Sandusky 40 Clyde 64, St. Mary CC 36: Amanda Cahill led the Fliers with 18 points in a rout against St. Mary CC. Clyde jumped out to a 24-8 lead over the Panthers in the first quarter, building a 38-14 advantage at the half. Perkins 68, Huron 32 Margaretta 39, Port Clinton 46 Edison 69, Oak Harbor 60 Bellevue 59, Willard 48: The Bellevue girls led Willard hang around throughout the first three quarters of Saturday's game, with the Flashes takeing a 45-44 lead into the fourth quarter. Bellevue responded, however, with a 15-3 fourth quarter for a 59-48 win. The Lady Red improved to 5-0, 2-0 in the NOL with the victory. BOYS BASKETBALLPerkins 68, Sandusky 48: Perkins jumped out to an early 22-6 lead, gave most of it back, but finished with a 24-10 fourth quarter for a 68-48 rout. Michael Ebert led the Pirates with 23 points and 13 rebounds, while David Doster added 13 points, Mitchell Benkey 12 and Nic Williams 11. Xavier Turner scored 11 points for the Blue Streaks, followed by Dameyion Smith with nine. Norwalk 75, Ashland 57 Huron 60, Vermilion 47: The Tigers won a foul-plagued game against Vermilion, 60-47, with 42 fouls. Aaron Casey scored 22 points for Huron, while Anthony Rini led the Sailors with 16. SWIMMINGSandusky sweeps A-Behr: The Sandusky boys and girls went home with meet titles at the 10th A-Behr Classic Saturday. Taylor and Kerrigan Vargo both won all four events they entered and Zach Waddington, Jack Stauffer and Jeremy White winning three events each. WRESTLINGHuron's Majoy 6th, Oak Harbor's Bergman 7th at Ironman: Huron heavyweight Nino Majoy finished 6th in the Ironman tournament with a win early and a loss late to Oregon Clay's Garrett Gray. Oak Harbor senior Alex Bergman was the only placer for the Rockets, finishing seventh in the 152-pound bracket. Both Majoy and Bergman got a chance to wrestle the eventual champions in their respective classes, Brooks Black (Blair Academy, N.J.) and Bo Jordan (St. Paris Graham). Perkins wins Olentangy Liberty Invite: The Pirates had one champion and five second-place finishers in Saturday's Olentangy Invite. John Workman won the 195-pound class for Perkins and faced teammate Dylan Hermes in the finals.
