Perkins got off to a fast start in Wednesday's annual Battle for Perkins Avenue against rival Sandusky.

The Pirates got pins in four of the first seven matches and won the dual for the 15th straight time in a 55-13 outcome.

Dylan Hermes, Derek Wolf, Zach Sargent and Bryon Logan picked up pins for the Pirates.

St. Paul picks up two wins in debut: The Flyers opened the season with a pair of wins, beating Seneca East (52-27) and New London (42-24).

SWIMMING
Margaretta gains six wins in quad: The Polar Bears won 13 of 24 events as the boys and girls won three matches each against Norwalk, Fostoria and St. Wendelin.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Bay 54, Vermilion 36: AuBree LaForce scored 19 points for the Sailors in a loss to the Rockets.
